Mother's Day
Mother's Day is a celebration honoring mothers and motherhood,material bonds, and the influences of mothers in society. It is usually celebrated on different days in March or May in most places around the world. Mother's Day celebrations began in the United States in the early 20th century.
In most countries, Mother's Day is a new concept copied from Western civilization. Bangladeshis have been celebrating Mother's Day for the past few years. In Bangladesh, Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May. People wish his/her mother on the day. The also give his/her mom sharees , cakes, flowers, greetings cards, mobile phones, sweets, ice-creams and gift mugs etc,
as Mother's Day gifts. They try to remain very close to their mothers on that day. The observance of the day discussion programs are organized by government and non-governmental organizations. Reception programs, cultural programs are organised to mark the day in the capital city. Television channels are telecast special programs and news paper published special features and column to mark the day. There is a lot of demand in greeting cards, flowers and gift shops and markets specializing in gifts for mom especially kids.
